Decision/Desire/Declaration - Chapter 2
More background. I was saying that chapter 3 was going to the be the start but I wrote too much on Chapter 2 that I have to split it up. xD ENJOY!!!! Kytana having her not scary moments..... *giggles*
CHAPTER 2
Kytana didn’t sleep a wink at all. She was talking to Jun all night, and they really had a lot in common. She kept checking her cell phone each time and it got to the point where she needed to finish packing. Jun helped her and then waited till she was done with her shower. He was kind enough to drop her off at the airport and give her one last hug goodbye.
“Call, text or e-mail me when you get back.” Jun requested.
“Sure. Thank you.” She smiled and got her luggage out of the car. She was finally happy and to a point where she didn’t want to go back home. Still, she had to for work and her insane life again.
*******
She came to work the next day, smiling. Once she got back, she slept peacefully, dreaming about her new ‘date’. Everyone had never seen Kytana crack a smile early in the morning.
“Hey, did something happen in Japan?” Her investigation partner, Jonathan Arton, asked. He knew her as long as she’s been with the firm.
“Well, when I wasn’t in class, I felt like it was a vacation.”
“Actually, you just seem so happy that it’s scary.” Normally, cracking a smile from Kytana was death.
“I am. I can’t wait to get back to work.” She took out her laptop from her bag and placed it on her desk. As a surprise, her fiancé came in. She looked up and wasn’t sure whether to puke or pretend again.
“You didn’t call me yesterday to pick you up. Is everything okay?” He was concerned.
“I took a cab. I’m fine and I can handle myself.” She turned on her laptop.
“Well, we should go out tonight for dinner.”
Jonathan left them alone, and he was the only one who knew she wasn’t happy being with her fiancé.
“I just got back. Let me have some peace and quiet.” Kytana did not look at him and focused on her laptop.
“Call me when you are ready. I missed you.” He gave her a kiss on the cheek. She just smiled, keeping it still, trying to not express how disgusted she was. Her fiancé left.
“You hate him.” Jonathan went back to her.
“I don’t love him to correct you.” Kytana was open to him about anything.
“Then why are you guys getting married again?”
“I had no choice.” She glared.
“Why don’t we go out to dinner and talk about it later, k?” He really didn’t want to see his partner unhappy.
“Sounds good. Besides, I have a lot to tell you.” She chuckled.
“I’ll be glad to hear it then.”
The Director came in and had Kytana come into his office. She sat down in the chair in front of his desk.
“So, I need some feedback from the classes you took.” He asked as he made himself a cup of coffee.
“Yes, sir.” She took out her folder with the report she made before leaving Japan. “I’ve written all of what I learned down.”
He went back to his desk and looked at it. He liked how Kytana put effort in all her work, and they were organized as he scanned it, “Good. Now, on a personal level, what happened in Japan?” He sipped in coffee.
“I did some sight seeing here and there.”
“And you’re extremely happy about it?” He knew there was something more.
“Yes.” She didn’t want to go into any details about it because it was only for her blogs.
“Well, I’m glad.” Even though he wasn’t convinced. “In the next couple of months, I would like for you start studying for the international attorney’s exam. I’ve already scheduled an appointment for you take the test in 6 months.”
Kytana’s mouth dropped. She was really wondering why he wanted her to be one, “Sir, don’t I need to still go through law school?”
“The program I put you under was international law school. I already received your scores, and you’ve passed them. 4% of candidates in those classes pass. Now, the next step is to take the exam.”
“That was law school? No wonder it was extremely tough.” Kytana was oblivious to it.
“Yes. You have exceeded the expectations of this law firm. I would like for you to work with us as an attorney. Also, you have mastered some languages on your own which would help in this line of work.” He smiled and sat back.
“It would be a great honor, sir. Thank you so much.” Kytana didn’t expect to be an attorney till she was 30. She figured this would be a promotion and that meant more vacation time and money.
“Now, go ahead and take the next 2 days off. You look extremely tired.” He noticed her eyes. It was lack of sleep and jet lag. “I expect you to be back here pronto after 2 days.”
“Yes sir!” She stood up and bowed. He arched a brow. She was used to bowing since she was in Japan. Then, she realized she was back in America. “Uh... my apologies. It’s a respectful in Japan.”
“Oh. Okay. Have a good day.”
Kytana left his office and packed up her things.
“Where you going?” Jonathan asked as he was eating a donut.
“Home. Sleep. Recover.” She was excited. It just meant she could talk to Jun and talk about her trip in Japan now.
“The boss let you out early? Lucky! Maybe I have to be a girl.”
Kytana laughed, “Well, call me when you’re done with work so we can eat.”
“All right. See you later.” He waved, and she waved back to him.
*******
Once she got home, she immediately went online to her blogs and posted her trip to Japan even though it was on business. She went into detail about how she got to see the Utaban show with Arashi while she was there. Then, she turned on her MSN messenger and other IM programs to see who was online. Her online friend, Hikari, immediately instant messaged her.
Hikari: I just finished reading your post. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Kytana: Yes! They were really hot!
Hikari: You’re so lucky! I wished I was there!
Kytana: Girl, you should have came with me. Yet, I think you would have been bored up to that point. LOL
Hikari: Kytana, you didn’t tell me!
Kytana: It was business… sorry.
They continued to IM. Who was Hikari? Hikari was an online friend Kytana met through VOX, starting the end of December 2006. They used to just comment here and there on each other’s blogs. Kytana private messaged her once to ask about something, and well, the rest of the story is to the present. Even though they only saw pictures of each other and talk about their lives through blogging, IM and private messaging, they felt like they were sisters. Hikari was an only child while Kytana was the youngest. They connected well. They told each other almost everything that’s happened and even asked for advice when they were in trouble. One day, they told each other they’ll meet up in the future to finally hang out and fangirl about Arashi. Still, Kytana dared not to tell her anything about meeting Jun. She knew she had to keep it a secret until word came out in public.
*******
Three months passed after her trip to Japan. Kytana and Jun spoke everyday regardless of their busy schedules. Their conversations were about anything and everything, making it interesting to know more about each other. During this time, Jun was filming for a new movie, Hidden Fortress: the Last Princess. He told Kytana how the setting was and working on all his action scenes. The time differences weren’t bad. Normally, Kytana would be researching something when called at 1am, his time.
“Really? You actually do some of your own stunts?” She would think he would have a stunt double for everything since he was skinny, etc. She was researching a case she was assigned on the police station database while talking to him on her headset.
“Yes. I wanted to try something different. I know this would be a lot of workout but hey, it’s worth it.” Jun explained.
“So you must be muscled under that skinniness then…” She joked as she clicked an icon.
“I’m strong just because I’m skinny”
“Yeah… sometimes I wonder if you eat because you may get skinnier than me.” She shook her head as she typed in a name.
“I’d like to wrestle you to see who’s the strongest then… when I see you again of course.” Jun sighed.
“You never know. We’ll probably randomly give each other surprise visits.” Kytana chuckled.
“That’s a deal then.” There was a bit of a pause. “I really miss seeing you even though it was two days.”
“I know. I miss you too. Plus, the time differences can be annoying but we’ll have to make do with what we have now.” She finally found the person she was researching.
“Kytana, you haven’t said anything to anyone, right?” Jun’s tone changed.
“Of course not. I don’t want our reputations shattered…” She was about to say dating, but she was in the office still.
“Okay.”
“Besides, we’re busy people. I’m always studying for my exam which is in the next three months.” It was something she did every night when she came home.
“I think that’s why we go well together.” Jun expressed.
“I agree. It’s nice to know the juicy gossip from the actual idol himself.” She chuckled. “By the way, is there a chance I can meet the rest of the F4 and Inoue Mao? I love Hana Yori Dango and well, they all seem really awesome.”
“If you get over here, of course. That’s a promise. I will introduce you as a friend, though.” He didn’t want them to even know he was dating.
“I thought that would be the plan in the first place. I wouldn’t think you’d like to introduce me as your girlfriend due to the crazy Johnny rules. I have on question though.”
“Shoot.”
“Did you actually date Inoue Mao? You see….. there’s a forum that I entered that’s only about you and her. It’s really neat and I really believe you guys did.” She remembered the Love So Sweet forum. It was cute to see all the analyses.
Jun was silent.
“Maybe I shouldn’t ask that question. I was curious. I’m sorry.” Kytana felt awkward.
“…. We did….” He admitted.
Kytana was expecting him to reject it, but he didn’t, “Oh… well…. Umm…. what happened?”
“I think it’s my fault. She and I didn’t get along in the beginning. Yet, I thought Mao was very pretty and intelligent. It was kind of lonely at first but we started opening up more. I love it when a girl is independent. Being the straightforward person that I am, I asked her out. First, I thought it was a stupid move but she accepted. We weren’t boyfriend and girlfriend… just more dating. After everything ended for Season 2, it was… well… we just became really busy. She had her career a head of her and I wasn’t going to ruin it because I am a Johnny. So, we mutually broke it off but became really close friends. I see her more as a little sister now, and we call each other up to hang out. I will say she was a great kisser though.”
Kytana choked… that was a lot of information to take in while doing her case research.
“Did.... I… ummm….. make you uncomfortable?”
“I will say that I’m glad you both are close friends…. And the kissing part was unnecessary.” Kytana wasn’t good at intimacy with any guy.
“I apologize. That just came out.”
“Ah. That must have been a hard decision though. I know you worked with her but you guys really looked like you were in love when I watched Season 2 especially the ending! It was so real….”
“On my end, yes. With Mao, she kind of did but things may have been bad in the future if we stayed together further.” Jun sounded very sad.
“Goodness. If I ever talk Johnny, I want to lay it out that it can be just too much. You can’t even fall in love.” That was something that didn’t just bother Kytana but other Arashi fans. They’re favorite group had to abide by the strict rules. At the same time, she felt bad that she was dating him when he could have stayed with Mao. “I feel bad.”
“Why?”
“I’ll explain later. I’m at the office still.”
“Ok.” He digressed. “You know…You would be the first to stand up to Johnny. No one outside of the business ever does.”
“I figured because they’d get sued or something horrible will just happen. Still…. I believe it’s too much.” She wrote down on her notepad the info she needed.
“After working here almost 10 years, it’s second nature. He gives me a lot of time to reflect and do what I want. I feel like we’re the only group that he does this to actually.”
“Duh! Have you seen how popular you all are worldwide? It’s a lot more than NEWS, KAT-TUN and even SMAP! I will say that I’m a sucker for buying all the magazines, merchandise and CDs… god… such an expensive hobby!” She exclaimed.
“Stop spending your money on the items. You know the real person.” Jun expressed.
“I know. Still, it’s worth it because I always love drooling at your pictures. I should have you sign one of my CDs and favorite magazines.” She wouldn’t throw them away even if he requested because she loved the shots he took.
“Tell me it’s not the AnAn of me being naked.” Jun chuckled because every fan loved that one.
“Actually, no. I will admit that was hot, and I wish I saw more.” She wished she had the scans right then and there to see but all of it was at home.
“All right.” He yawned on his end.
“You need to sleep now. So have sweet dreams, k?”
“I hope I have one of you tonight.”
“Oi. Stop making me blush.” She did and looked down more at her notepad. She didn’t want her colleagues to see her face.
“Night.” Jun clicked his phone off. Kytana sighed happily but then went back into her seriousness she always does when working.
“So, who is this guy you seem to be talking to?” Jonathan was eavesdropping and understood their conversation since he was an international private investigator himself. He knew that she was happy more and more every day, and it was too unusual to see his partner like this.
“You heard me, huh?” She opened up one of her books for reference on a code.
“I’m not used to this giggly attitude you have towards people. It got me thinking the past couple of months that there must be someone great in her life.”
“Jealous?”
“Nope. Yet, if James finds out, you’re screwed.” He personally never liked James Harold, Kytana’s fiancé.
“Thank God you won’t say anything because you hate him.”
“You know me well. Besides, I have a date tonight with a girl hotter than you.”
“Oh, I’m so envious of her beauty.” She sarcastically replied.
“Actually, she reminds me of you. So, it won’t be so bad to deal with actually.” Jonathan smiled.
“Oooo... a twin!” Kytana make a quiet evil laugh just for them to hear.
“Say…. Are you happy with this guy?” He typed on his computer since he was researching the same case.
“Yes. He’s very open with me and I feel really comfortable when I talk to him. Of course, you’re the other person that does this and we’re not dating.”
“Be careful though. James may sue him for something if he finds out.” He always looked out for his partner.
“I’m not his freaking property, Jonathan.” She sighed. “Seriously, if he wasn’t a prosecutor, it may be different. Also, the person I’m seeing is in Japan. James isn’t an international prosecutor.”
“What does your ‘boyfriend’ think about it?” He was quite a nosy person when it came to Kytana’s life.
“He’s not my boyfriend. We’re just dating… you know…. Seeing how things go.”
“It seems more than that. You talk to him like you’re in love. Man, I’m curious who this guy really is cause he doesn’t sound like an average guy.” At one point, he had a crush on Kytana but since they became partners, he couldn’t feel that way about her.
“You would flip if I told you.” She checked back at the chart she looked at to find any discrepancies.
“Try me.” He challenged.
“How about not here?”
“Ok ok. Yet, I have a personal question I’ve always wanted to ask you.” Jonathan cleared his throat.
“What is it?” She then opened up her Microsoft Word on the computer and started typing out her report.
“Are you a virgin?”
Kytana’s eyes widened because she was. She stood up slightly for only her narrowed eyes were over Jonathan’s cubicle.
“Is that a yes?” He wasn’t fazed. She nodded in response. It was something he wanted to know for a long time because his partner never talked a lot about her love life.
“If you want me to go into details about everything, then take me out to dinner.” She was not willing to spill it in the office.
“That works then. It does explain why you can be really uptight.” He commented as he turned back to his computer. She threw a pen at the back of his head and quickly sat back down.
“Let’s just get back to work. I want to get this done before we get more cases from the Director.” She didn’t tell anyone about what her and Director discussed about her meeting with him when she came back from Japan. It would be more of a surprise when she actually passed the test.
*******
Another three months rolled along. The communication lessened from when they first started talking to each other. Jun’s schedule became tighter because he was filming Hana Yori Dango Final, the movie. Kytana was prepping for her exam which would take about 3 days straight which was the next day. It was not too bad. Anxiety hit her badly. There should be no distractions. The Director already arranged her days off prior the exam. So, all the work was handed off to Jonathan who was going to question her when she came back. To make sure she knew all the knowledge she read, she took a couple of online tests to make sure. She passed them easily which meant it was a good sign.
~ I hope I don’t die once it’s given to me. I can do this…. This is like every case. Be careful with details and do not overlook anything. If I fail, the Director is going to kill me. Oi… ~ To calm herself, she put on some Arashi music. They were the best group to stay positive under pressure. This was a side of Kytana never showed anyone – paranoid, stress, exhaustion. Surely, the next day came by quickly, and she went in for the test, conquering it. The next part was waiting for her results for the next four months.
*******
Her birthday was today, January 16th, and she didn’t know what she was going to do. She was one year older from the previous year. Her friends went on ski trips and she always worked. Her office already gave her a party, and that was about it. She lied to her fiancé about going along with some people on the trip because she didn’t want to spend any time with him on this day. After meeting Jun, she really wasn’t into talking to James all that much but still attended events that he went to and always gave her famous fake smile. She knew she was tough, but she still wanted to be close to someone. As she was thinking at her apartment on what to do, she heard a beep on her laptop. It was Hikari IMing her.
Hikari: Kytana! Thank God you’re online!
Kytana: What’s up?
Hikari: I need some advice. You’re the only one who’s always given me perspectives on a lot of things.
Kytana: I try anyways. Well, what’s the issue?
Hikari: My friend…. Well, she was dating this guy who was 10 years older than her.
Kytana: …this sounds like your parents….
Hikari: He dumped her and left her out of the blue. She really doesn’t know what to do but she still loves him.
Kytana: How did they meet?
Hikari: Randomly.
Kytana: Interesting.
Hikari: I don’t know what to say to her. Honestly, she’s very torn up and trying to stay strong. She wants him back even though she’s denying she doesn’t.
Kytana: Hhhmmm… well, she hasn’t made love to him, right?
Hikari: No. Yet she wished she did.
Kytana: I’m not seriously good with relationships but all I can say is to stay strong and continuing hope. The guy probably did it for a good reason like he didn’t want her to get hurt because of something’s he’s in.
Hikari: Why, though? She loved him that much and he felt the same.
Kytana: Well, they say that the distance makes the heart grow fonder. Yet, it just sounds like he wanted to protect her especially the age difference.
Hikari: That shouldn’t matter.
Kytana: It can if family and friends are the big influences against the relationship.
Hikari: Really?
Kytana: Hai. I would tell her if it’s meant to be, then he will come back to her. I think this maybe temporary.
Hikari: *hugs* Thanks you for the perspective. She’ll probably feel a bit better once I tell her.
Kytana: *hugs back* No problem.
Hikari: Btw…. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! *bigger hugs and hands over Jun*
Kytana: Arigato! I wish I had Jun. LOL
Hikari: What are you doing?
Kytana: Well, my firm already gave me a birthday party. It’s a bit convenient that my birthday is on a Friday this year.
Hikari: Is your fiancé going to do anything romantic?
Kytana: Eh…. No. He’s not THAT TYPE of guy. --;;;;;; Besides, I normally just go out to dinner on my own every year.
Hikari: WHAT? If I was there I would be taking you out.
Kytana: Yeah…. a teenager taking an adult out? O.o
Hikari: I have money… XD
Kytana: Thanks for the offer. Maybe when I go visit you one day if I ever get vacation.
She wondered who Hikari was talking about throughout this whole conversation. Still, she hoped Hikari’s friend will make it and not decide to commit suicide. That would be tragic. Since she was IMing, Kytana didn’t hear the knock on the door. After a bit, she heard her doorbell.
Kytana: I better go. Someone’s here. I will talk to you later. *hugs*
Hikari: Hai! *hugs back* HAVE FUN!!!
She turned off her MSN messenger and walked up to the door. She checked the peep hole and saw a man with roses, not recognizing him since he was in a hat and sunglasses.
“Kytana?” He spoke with a Japanese accent.
“Who are you?” She readied her katana that was always right next the side of the door frame. He didn’t answer because he didn’t want to be obvious. An idea popped in the mysterious guest. He took out his cell phone and called Kytana’s cell phone. It was Jun’s ringtone, Love So Sweet. Carrying her katana, she walked over to her phone and answered it.
“Jun… could you give me a minute? There’s some weird man at my door.” She explained.
“That’s me.” He sighed.
“NANI?!?!?!?!” She checked the peep hole again and he smiled, holding his cell phone to his ear. Kytana dropped her katana, opened the door quickly and pulled him in, closing it right after. He was surprised… why would she be so sudden? He looked down and saw the katana. Was she going to kill him? He shrugged and laid the roses down on her dining table. Then, he put down his duffle bag and took off the hat and sunglasses. His hairstyle was the Domyoji style she loved. Kytana wasn’t sure to glomp him or simply stay where she was at. He was gorgeous and couldn’t stop staring.
“Are you going to hug me or are we going to stare at each other for the next couple of hours?” He grinned. She walked up to him and hugged him tightly. Jun did the same. “I wasn’t going to miss your birthday. So, I’m here till Sunday.” He explained. “This was my surprise, and we haven’t talked much.”
“But you have the shooting. You shouldn’t be here.” Kytana rested her head on his chest. He was warm, and his heart was beating unusually.
“Kytana, I haven’t stopped thinking about you.” He admitted. “Sometimes, I think you’re Makino instead of Mao. It’s strange but I had to.”
“I see you on magazines. So it’s hard to not stop thinking about you.” She chuckled.
“Happy Birthday!” He kissed her forehead. She allowed it. They were dating already 6 months, long distance.
“I’m surprised you found my place.”
“I had to have the cab driver look up the address for me.”
“You speak English now?” MJ blinked.
“Well, what little I knew...” He scratched his head.
“Ah I see.”
“So, did you have anything planned tonight?” He asked.
“No. I was going to have dinner and probably catch a movie.”
“By yourself? On your birthday? You have a fiancé.” Jun pointed out.
“Let’s not go there. Ever since we’ve been talking, I don’t want to have anything to do with James. I feel…. Well…” She normally never showed her feelings but this was rare. “…genuinely happy when it’s you.” He noticed her pause and realized Kytana wasn’t a person who showed her emotions at all. She let go of him and smiled. “Eto… ummm….”
“You are someone who can’t express her feelings…” Jun was the opposite but he knows to stay on guard after his past.
“Yes. It’s obvious I know. Look… let’s go out to dinner and probably come back here for a movie. I think I’m still in shock.” She flushed.
“Let’s get these roses in a vase first before we go.” He suggested. She nodded and went into her room to see if she any available vases. Her fiancé always brought her flowers which is why she had many. She decided to take out one of the many bouquets and came out of her room. Jun was looking at her living room and checking the DVD collection. Kytana was into a lot of movies and shows which intrigued him.
“Choosing the movie for when we come back?” She placed his bouquet in the vase. It was very pretty once it was set up.
“Yes.”
“Well, most of them are not going to have Japanese subtitles.”
“I can understand a bit.” He smiled and took out Down With Love with Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor. He placed it on her coffee table as a reminder. “This looks funny.”
She walked over to the table and chuckled, “You want to watch a somewhat feminist film?”
“I liked Chicago with her in it.”
“Oh. Okay… just be prepared for mass laughing.” She went into her room to change and checked herself in the mirror. She was red as a tomato. ~ I know he’s Jun Matsumoto… he’s… gah! This is a dream right now, isn’t it??? ~ She pinched herself. ~ Never mind. I am really dating him. Why am I acting like this? Sheesh…. ~ She put on a nice pair of tight jeans with a one-sided black top. It bared her left shoulder. She left her hair down in the layers along with the side bangs which covered the right side. Along with the outfit were medium sized hoop earrings and silver necklace with her birthstone. After, she put her on diamond engagement ring that was worth $10,000. She hated wearing it but had no choice. Before putting make-up on, she put on the contacts she only used when she felt like it. After, the light make-up and light purple eye shadow accentuated her face. She applied her lip gloss last. ~ I think this is good. I can be as stylish as Jun. ~ Kytana improved in her style thanks from getting tips from him and reading a lot of Japanese magazines. After, she put on her high heel boots and stepped out of the room. Jun was looking around her walls and how her place was set up. When he heard the door open, he turned his head. She stood there, putting a hand on her hip.
“I’m ready.”
Jun’s jaw dropped at the sight of his date. A while ago, he saw her in shorts a tank top. Now, she transformed into a model.
“It’s my birthday. I might as well look good out today out of other days.” She winked.
“You’re a person who’s beautiful every way.” He walked up to her and took her hand, giving it a kiss. He had his normal glasses he used when he didn’t wear his contacts. “Are you sure you don’t want to try modeling?”
“Not my field…..”
“How about just for me?”
“Uhhhh…”
“Shy now, huh?”
“Jun, stop making me embarrassed.”
“I was waiting for you to kick my ass. What happened to that?” He laughed.
“You want me to? I have no issues if you want to provoke it further.” She gave her evil smile.
“I will shut up now.”
“Good. Let’s get dinner. We’re gonna avoid any Japanese restaurants because I can see all the girls wanting pictures and grabbing you.” Kytana felt a little possessive now.
“Well, you know this state. You lead the way.” He kissed her hand again.
They left her apartment silently. She knew there were some Japanese neighbors that might recognize Jun. Yet, no one could because it was different to see him in his normal glasses. Despite the rainy whether, she drove her silver coupe Honda Civic to San Francisco and had dinner at one of her favorite dim sum restaurants. Instead of going back right away, they went up to Coit Tower. Jun was fascinated at the mural painted on the walls. He took out his camera and went all out. He took some of Kytana looking the historical information.
“I’d take you to the top, but it’s open meaning rain will wet us.”
“We have an umbrella. Let’s go!” Jun paid for the tickets to go up, and he sounded so excited. She laughed along with him and the got to the top. They were the only crazy ones to be up there. From Coit Tower, anyone could see the whole city. She pointed to the places from each window and explained what they were.
“I already like it here.” Jun watched the cars go down Lombard street.
“If you’re used the city life… well, Japan is more like this in Tokyo.” She thought out loud.
“We should come up here tomorrow during the day to go to the other sights.” He was in the mood to check out everything before he had to go back Sunday.
“That sounds really good actually. I didn’t have anything planned. Are you sure you’re not going to get bombarded by fans though? It’s a bit risky.”
“I’ll be disguised. Don’t worry about it.”
“Ummm.. you normally stick out.” She shook her head. “I mean the way you present yourself… your style….” She bluntly pointed out.
“Right… and you have a scary look all the time.”
“HEY!!!!” She whacked his arm and rolled her eyes.
“Gomen gomen. I didn’t think a comment like that would make you twitch.” He rubbed his arm.
She sighed and looked at her cell phone. “Let’s get back before the rain worsens.”
He took off his glasses and looked at her, “How about we just take in the sights more for about 10 minutes?”
Kytana wanted to squeal like a fangirl but kept it in. “There’s nothing more to-” He suddenly grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him. She almost tripped on the wet surface but he caught her before she could. “What was that for?” He stayed silent and put a finger to her lips. Kytana was trying to figure out what he was doing. Normally, she could read a person since it was her job. He slid his finger down and his warm hand snaked behind her neck. He waited too long for this Leaning in, his lips brushed against hers lightly. She blinked as he kissed her deeper but closed her eyes to return it. She put her hands on his arms that supported, leaning up. It was something she always dreamed of, and it was happening on her birthday. She had never kissed anyone like this before, not even her fiancé. Her back arched slowly as Jun leaned in farther. The kiss became intense for they were lost in each other. The rain poured but it didn’t disturb them to pull apart. A man shouted they were closed as he came out of the elevator which startled both of them. The two broke apart and looked at each other, drenched from the rain. Jun took her hand and went into the elevator with a befuddled Kytana. After thanking and tipping the man, they ran to her car and immediately started the heater. Kytana wiped her face with a towel she had in her back seat and the make-up came off. At least, it didn’t smear off.
“Shall we continue back at my place?” She smiled.
“You bet.” He leaned in and kissed the side of her cheek.
Kytana left Coit Tower, slowly driving through the rain. They arrived back to her place safely and immediately changed. Kytana slipped into her monkey pajama pants and blue long sleeved shirt. She put on her glasses after taking out her contacts and came out of her room. Jun sat on the couch, in his dark purple silk pajamas, and reading a Japanese novel he brought with him. He had his glasses on as well.
“Purple is really your color, isn’t it?” She chuckled as she sat next to him.
“I love it actually. I see you’re into monkeys.”
“Yeah.”
He took off his glasses and placed them on the coffee table with his book, “So… where were we before being interrupted earlier?”
“I don’t know.” She acted a bit innocent. Around Jun, she wasn’t the tough or scary person that people saw her as.
“Now you’re being too cute. It’s disturbing actually.”
“Looks like I scare people still with my cuteness.” She crawled on top swiftly as a puma and straddled his lap.
Jun smirked and relaxed his hands on the sides of her, “I wish you could do this everyday.”
“Shut up…” She leaned in and kissed him. They started off with slow, light kisses and went full on. It was convenient their phones were on silent because many people were calling. Underneath her, Kytana could feel Jun turned on and moaned a little. Still, she was scared to go farther because she wasn’t good at this. Jun slid his hand under her shirt to feel her soft skin. Her stomach and back were toned and a bit muscled flat.. The shirt was a bit of a nuisance. He lifted it a little bit but Kytana pulled away, shaking her head.
“Are you scared?” Jun wondered why she stopped. They were really into it.
“Jun, I don’t want to go farther. We’re still getting to know each other even though it feels like it’s been years.” It was part of the reason but the biggest one her virginity. He didn’t know she was still a virgin.
“There’s something more.” He read her easily as he saw her terrified expression. “Like I’ll leave you after this… or something even worse….”
“I am scared. The truth is that I’m still a virgin. So, this is all new to me.”
“Really? The way you kissed me didn’t feel like it.”
“It doesn’t mean that I’ve never made out or messed around with people.” It was a part of her life she wanted to forget. “I wasn’t to give myself to just anyone.”
“Souka.” Jun understood because of his experiences with making love and sex a la carte. The women he wanted never stuck around for long. If they did, it was always for money and not taking him seriously.
“Gomen. I’m not going to lie to you because it would be a lie if I said I didn’t want you. It’s just that I’ve never felt this way about anyone. I know we’ve been dating already about more than 6 months. This should be comfortable but it isn’t since we’ve got a long distance relationship.” She looked at him, holding his pajama collar.
“Kytana, I care about you a lot.” He raised his hand, caressing her cheek. He knew he could never say I love you to her because she was engaged. “I believe there’s something more to our relationship. I’m not going to force you to do anything, k?” He pulled her to his chest, and they held each other.
“Arigato. I really appreciate this.” She buried her head into his shoulder.
“Let’s go to bed. It’s been a long day for both of us. Well, I’m probably going to sleep out here actually.”
“Nande?”
“Well, I bet you don’t want me to sleep on your bed with you.”
“Stop assuming. I want you to even though I don’t want sex right now.” She got off of him and helped him.
“Hai.” He gave her a quick kiss on the lips and followed her into her room. They got under the bed sheets and smiled at each other.
“Thank you for today, Jun.” She kissed his nose.
“I’m glad to be here with you.”
Kytana felt this was all a dream even though it was real. Still, it was the best birthday she’s ever had.
The rest of the weekend was really fun. Jun and Kytana roamed around the streets of San Francisco and visited different sights like Lombard Street, the Japanese Tea Garden, and Golden Gate Bridge. Luckily no one recognized him. It was their time to date and relax from their busy lives. Jun didn’t want to go back but had to for the shooting. She took him back to the airport by Sunday morning. Kytana relaxed at home for the rest of the day. Their pictures were all dorky and funny as she scanned her digital camera. On the plane, Jun looked at the photo strips they took in some photo booths and then some pictures from his digital camera. They both smiled at all the memories they created.

if you hadn't reminded me in your PM i probably wouldn't have remembered for another week. XDD gomen! ^^;;
“I don’t love him to correct you.”
no sweetie, you HATE him. lol! but man, i was seriously surprised that Kytana treated her fiance like that. in my head i'd thought she'd play along, maybe be a little less enthusiastic, but she seriosuly can't stand the guy.
and Jun...geez. XD he wants her even if she's getting married. i wonder what part of 'married' her doesn't understand. and yet, i feel for him.
“Tell me it’s not the AnAn of me being naked.”
priceless. absolutely priceless. OF COURSE it's that one Jun! ^_~
and then...the virgin question. i would've thought her answer was gonna be no, but it explains a lot, like why she blushed like crazy when she told Hikari she slept with Jun the first time. (there will be a hot, explicit scene for that, right? ^_~) hahaha and those IM convos with Hikari? wow. she seems childish yet grown up at the same time...exactly like me. XDD i wonder if Kytana caught on even just a little bit about her question.
anyhow, i'm seriously loving this. keep it up, and as always, you know i'm dying for more. *hugs*
